The RRB Junior Engineer (JE) CBT-2 is the second stage of the Railway Recruitment Board Junior Engineer recruitment process. It is a technical examination conducted for candidates shortlisted through CBT-1. The exam evaluates candidates in General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry, Basics of Computers & Applications, Basics of Environment & Pollution Control, and the relevant Engineering discipline. The marks obtained in CBT-2 are considered for the final merit list, followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.

Duration

120 Minutes

Marking

1 mark is awarded for every correct answer. The examination consists of 150 objective questions carrying a total of 150 marks. The Technical Abilities section carries the highest weightage with 100 marks.

Negative marking

1/3 (0.33) mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. There is no penalty for unanswered questions.

Preparation Tips

  • Revise diploma/engineering fundamentals thoroughly.
  • Practice numerical problems from core engineering subjects.
  • Strengthen Physics, Chemistry, Computer Awareness, and Environmental topics.
  • Revise Current Affairs and Static General Knowledge regularly.
  • Solve previous years' RRB JE CBT-2 technical papers.
  • Attempt full-length mock tests to improve speed, technical accuracy, and time management.
  • Avoid unnecessary guesswork because one-third mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
